Just outside of Richmond,Va. Is the Crossings Golf Club. For many years as I traveled up and down the highway I always wondered about the golf course just to the right I-95 north. This past fall I had some extra time so I decided to stop. The staff was very gracious and fixed me up with a ready to go threesome. As I gazed across several holes I thought to myself what perfect spot to break up a long winded trip. Tree lined fairways and undulated greens make this a must play in Central Va.

Just
got back from a golf trip in Port St. Lucie,
FL. Played at the PGA Village. All 3 courses
are great, especially the Dye course. Great
staff and a lot less expensive than PGA National
in West Palm. Stayed at a brand new Hilton Garden
Inn on premises for $99 per night. In the hotel
is a Sam Snead’s Tavern. Good food and
fun bar crowd, didn’t have to leave the
hotel at night. Also adjacent is the PGA Village
Teaching Center, the most incredible practice
facility I have ever seen! Perfect spot for
a Florida golf vacation at a reasonable price.
Going back in March for a spring trip and will
also catch some spring training games as Port
St. Lucie is home to the Mets.

This past summer I went to visit my brother in Jacksonville,Fl. We played a course called Queens Harbor Golf & Yacht, a semi-private club just inland from Jackson Beach. Great course with awesome views of harbor and intercoastal waterway. Excellent conditioned Bermuda greens and good rates on green fees. Recommend highly. 7/9/07 John from Crew, VA |

Just got back from Hilton Head and on the way down we stopped off at Sumter GC right off the exit in Santee, SC. What a fun track from the back tees. If your heading south what a great place . Excellent greens and manicured fairways.

If your heading down I-95 you have to stop off and play Keith Hills ,home of the Campbell Camels. I always try to stop off at this little gem when I’m heading to Myrtle Beach. 2 great courses. The older course is lined with tall pines and accuracy is must ,where as the newer course is a little more open with several well placed water hazards. A great place to break up the road trip and don’t forget to order a famous orangeaide.
